Cebo Business

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Cebo Business Chrome extension collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use it to create Cebo trips from operator bus schedule pages.

Effective date: May 30, 2026 Last updated: May 30, 2026

1. Introduction

Cebo Business (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is a Chrome extension that helps transport operators create trips in Cebo (www.cebo.in) directly from supported operator bus schedule pages.

This policy applies to the Cebo Business Chrome extension and any related pages published by the extension developer for privacy disclosures (including this page).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

2. Single purpose

Cebo Business has one narrow purpose: to help authenticated Cebo users match bus schedule rows with Cebo company data and submit trip creation requests to Cebo.

The extension runs only on supported operator schedule URLs, adds “Start Trip” actions where schedule data matches Cebo records, and provides sign-in and trip submission tools for that workflow.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the extension, the following information may be processed:

3.1 Authentication information

  • Cebo username and password when you sign in (sent to Cebo’s servers for authentication)
  • Cebo session token (JWT), token expiry, login time, and related session metadata

3.2 Account and profile information from Cebo

After sign-in, Cebo may return profile and company details that the extension stores locally to operate, such as:

  • User ID, name, email, phone number, role, and active status
  • Company ID, company name, and related company details
  • Plan name and permissions associated with your Cebo account

3.3 Operational data from Cebo and bus-matching services

  • Allowed bus records, route lists, route stops, schedules, and driver/user lists for your company
  • Trip details submitted to Cebo (driver, bus registration, origin/destination, route information, and related trip fields)

3.4 Website content from operator schedule pages

On supported bus schedule pages, the extension reads row-level content needed to match and create trips, such as:

  • Route ID, time ID, and visible schedule row values
  • Driver name and phone number shown on the schedule row
  • Bus registration number and other row fields required for trip creation

3.5 Preferences

  • Light or dark theme preference selected in the extension

3.6 What we do not collect

  • Browsing history across unrelated websites
  • Keystrokes, mouse movements, scroll activity, or general user activity monitoring
  • Health, financial, payment, or personal communication data
  • Precise device location or GPS coordinates

4. How we use information

We use collected information only to:

  • Authenticate you with Cebo and maintain your signed-in session
  • Load buses, routes, and drivers for your Cebo company
  • Decide which schedule rows should show a “Start Trip” action
  • Pre-fill and submit trip creation requests to Cebo on your behalf
  • Display trip and route details in the in-page modal
  • Prompt you to sign in again when your session expires or is unauthorized
  • Remember your theme preference
  • Refresh supported schedule tabs when you use the reload action in the popup

5. Local storage

Most extension data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This may include:

  • Your Cebo authentication session
  • Cached allowed buses, company routes, and company users
  • Your theme preference

This data remains on your device and is used to improve performance and keep you signed in. Session data is removed when you log out or when Cebo returns an expired or unauthorized response.

The extension does not operate its own central user database for extension users.

6. Sharing and third parties

The extension communicates with the following services to perform its core function:

Service Purpose Data involved
www.cebo.in Sign-in, routes, users, and trip creation Credentials at login; session token; trip and company-related API data
rr-bus-info-server.vercel.app Bus/route/time matching for schedule rows Bus schedule matching records (route ID, time, journey details)
Supported operator schedule pages Read schedule row content and inject Start Trip UI Schedule row fields displayed on the page

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only as needed to provide the extension’s trip-creation functionality through Cebo and related matching services.

7. Browser permissions

Cebo Business requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage — to save your session, cached schedule-matching data, and theme preference locally
  • tabs — to open the sign-in popup, reload supported schedule tabs, and notify schedule pages when your session expires
  • Host access — limited to Cebo, bus-matching services, and supported operator schedule pages required for trip creation

The extension does not load or execute remote JavaScript code. Network requests return data (such as JSON) that is displayed or sent to Cebo APIs; that data is not executed as code.

8. Data retention

Session and cached data remain on your device until you log out, clear extension storage, uninstall the extension, or the extension clears data after an expired or unauthorized Cebo response.

Trip records created through Cebo are retained according to Cebo’s own policies and your operator’s Cebo account settings, not by this extension separately.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the extension, including storing session data locally in the browser, using HTTPS for API communication, and clearing invalid sessions when Cebo reports unauthorized access.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your Cebo credentials confidential and for using the extension on trusted devices.

10. Your choices

You can control your data in the following ways:

  • Log out — use Logout in the extension popup to clear your local session
  • Uninstall — removing the extension deletes locally stored extension data from your browser
  • Do not sign in — without signing in, trip creation features will not run
  • Contact your administrator — for Cebo account access, roles, or company data questions

11. Children’s privacy

Cebo Business is intended for business use by transport operators and their authorized staff. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.

13. Contact
